Teeth Clenching
Teeth clenching is initially a harmless habit but it can also alter your bite relationship, severely damage your teeth and jaws. It can also cause hypersensitivity, persistent jaw pain, facial pain and headaches. Persistent teeth clenching can cause the tooth enamel to break down at the gum line and form a notch in the tooth. This is called abfraction. If you see or feel these notches, you may be clenching your teeth. We can relieve and prevent further damage by making a custom fitted oral appliance you can wear while sleeping.
